VP of Fleet Operations – Austin, TX

We are seeking a seasoned VP of Fleet Operations to lead our Austin operation with full responsibility for operational execution, financial performance, fleet management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities as a VP of Fleet Operations:

• Provide end‑to‑end leadership of fleet operations for the Austin market
• Own and manage full P&L performance, driving financial results and profitability
• Recruit, develop, coach, and lead employees and Independent Contractors
• Ensure fleet reliability through preventive maintenance, asset utilization, and operational efficiency
• Champion safety, compliance, and regulatory standards across all operations
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, municipal leaders, and community stakeholders
• Utilize KPIs, operational metrics, and data insights to guide strategic decisions and continuous improvement
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget with an emphasis on cost control and optimization
• Support contract negotiations, renewals, and new business development initiatives
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence, and operational discipline
• Partner closely with Human Resources on workforce planning, engagement, and talent development

Qualifications of a VP of Fleet Operations

• 5–10 years of senior leadership experience in fleet operations, transportation, operations, or general management
• Proven success managing full P&L responsibility
• Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills
• Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams and drive operational excellence
• Strategic, analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement
